Customer pays 10.5 mil. yen for diamond-studded Hello Kitty effi

OSAKA, Japan - Mitsukoshi Ltd. said on Nov. 24 a diamond-studded effigy (in photo) of the popular feline character Hello Kitty, which had a price tag of 10.5 million yen, has been sold to a customer at its Osaka department store. The platinum effigy of Kitty in a queen's outfit was produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cat brand. (Kyodo)

Sharp to sell 80-inch TV

The Japanese consumer electronics giant said July 22, 2011, that the handset, with a price tag of 34,800 yen, can only be purchased via Panasonic's web store.
