(1)Low-pressure system brings typhoon-class winds to Japan
TOKYO, Japan - Workers try to remove the tree that fell on a train of Odakyu Line in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward on Dec. 5. A rapidly growing low-pressure system brought typhoon-class winds to the Japanese archipelago, causing blackouts, stranding a chemical tanker and paralyzing some air and land traffic. In Tokyo, winds of 144 kilometer per hour -- the strongest ever observed in the capital -- were recorded early in the morning. (Kyodo)
