Family members of 2 deported Kurds given status to stay
TOKYO, Japan - Zeliha Kazankiran (2nd from R), a Kurd seeking asylum in Japan, answers reporters' questions Jan. 24 before entering the Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau. The same day, the bureau renewed her monthly provisional status to stay in Japan along with that of four other members of her family.
