High Court overturns Ichitaro patent infringement ruling

TOKYO, Japan - The Intellectual Property High Court overturned a lower court ruling Sept. 30, saying Justsystem Corp. can continue to produce and sell its Ichitaro word-processing software (in photo) and Hanako graphics software as they do not infringe upon a Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. patent.                 Longest operation eyed at Japan nuclear plant

                SENDAI, Japan - This October 2008 file photo shows the No. 3 reactor of the Fukushima No. 2 nuclear plant in Fukushima Prefecture. The operator of the plant, Tokyo Electric Power Co., is planning to commence by the end of 2011 continuous operation of the reactor for up to 16 months, which would be the longest period it has operated a nuclear reactor without a checkup.
