New gov't spokesman Abe cautions against BOJ policy shift
TOKYO, Japan - Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe speaks at his first press conference as top government spokesman at the prime minister's office on Nov. 1. Abe indicated he wants the Bank of Japan to maintain the current ultra-loose monetary policy, which the central bank is exploring ways to terminate. ''I want it to fully take care of policy coordination as we are advancing structural reform to remove waste for fiscal rehabilitation,'' Abe said in reference to the central bank. (Kyodo)
