Valentine named winner of Shoriki award
TOKYO, Japan - Lotte Marines manager Bobby Valentine is all smiles at a press conference at Chiba Marine Stadium on Nov. 2 after being named the recipient of the prestigious Matsutaro Shoriki award for his contributions to the development of Japanese baseball. The former New York Mets and Texas Rangers manager guided Lotte to its first Japan Series title in 31 years. (Kyodo)
