Prosecutors probe Narita airport operator in bid-rigging case

NARITA, Japan - Public prosecutors enter Narita International Airport Corp. at Narita, east of Tokyo, on Nov. 18 for searches. Prosecutors suspect the state-owned New Tokyo International Airport Authority, the predecessor of Narita International Airport Corp., the current airport operator, fixed the winner of designated competitive bidding among six companies on Nov. 7, 2003, for an electrical transformation facility project at the airport.
