Ruling bloc unveils tax reform outline favorable to firms

TOKYO, Japan - The Tax Commission of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party meets in a plenary session at the party headquarters in Tokyo on Dec. 14. The LDP, joined later by its coalition partner New Komeito party unveiled a tax reform outline for fiscal 2007, featuring a series of tax breaks for companies and a pledge to address drastic tax reform, including raising the consumption tax, from late in 2007.
