Scandal-hit Fujiya picks new chief outside of founder clan

TOKYO, Japan - Yasufumi Sakurai (R), new president of Fujiya Co., and former president Rintaro Fujii (L) hold a news conference at a Tokyo hotel on Jan. 22. Fujiya, one of Japan's oldest established confectioners known for introducing Japan to Western-style cakes, faces a scandal involving the use of out-of-date ingredients in some of its products.
