U.S. forces realignment bill passes lower house
TOKYO, Japan - A bill aimed at promoting the realignment of U.S. forces in Japan clears the House of Representatives on April 13. The legislation, which awaits action by the House of Councillors, is designed to provide state subsidies conditionally and incrementally in four stages to municipalities that host or are located near bases where the U.S. military presence is expected to be substantial.
