M'bishi Heavy to exhibit mock-up of advanced jet cabin at Paris

TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said on June 11 it will exhibit the replica of the cabin (in computer graphic image) of its next-generation small passenger aircraft at the International Paris Air Show to be held between June 18 and 24. With a new engine installed, the aircraft, dubbed the Mitsubishi Regional Jet, is expected to reduce fuel consumption and contribute to enhanced competitiveness and lower operating costs for airline companies, Japan's largest heavy machinery manufacturer said.         Japan firms may make over 20% of Boeing's next-generation jet

        TOKYO, Sept. 19 Kyodo - Randy Tinseth, a director of U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co.'s commercial jet unit, said in Tokyo on Sept. 19 that the company may allow Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., to produce 20% or more of its next-generation 7E7 passenger jet, a model of which he is holding.
