Nissan's 4th product quality control center begins full operatio

TOKYO, Japan - The newly-built Field Quality Center of Nissan Motor Co. at Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, where engineers from Nissan and parts suppliers work together to examine defects in Nissan cars. Nissan has opened three similar facilities this year, two in the United States and one in Britain.

          On August 22, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) announced that three convenience store companies, Seven-Eleven Japan, FamilyMart, and Lawson, will begin a demonstration experiment for joint delivery. For one week from August 1, the delivery trucks will be sent from each company's distribution bases to XFRONTIER, a joint delivery center of Sagawa Express (Koto Ward, Tokyo). They will then deliver beverages, confectionery, daily goods and other items to a total of 40 stores in the bay area of Tokyo.             Aerology Lab (Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture) announced on April 14 that it has developed a prototype of a "purely Japanese" flying robot (drone), "AeroRange Pro" (photo), which consists entirely of parts made in Japan. In general, drones rely on parts made in China for most of their components. The company aims to start mass production in small lots by December. (Minato Ward, Osaka City), which operates an open innovation base, Kobashi Robotics (Minami Ward, Okayama City), which supports mass production, and Liberace (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), which comprehensively supports venture businesses from trial manufacture to mass production. The company is promoting speedy manufacturing in cooperation with town factories in Kansai and other regions. The hybrid drone combines an engine and an electric motor.               Foxter's Hybrid Image Processing System for AI Visual Inspection

              Foxter Corporation (Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture) will release in May a hybrid image processing system that combines Preferred Networks' (PFN, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) artificial intelligence (AI) visual inspection and conventional image processing methods.The company will market the system in Japan and China in cooperation with a subsidiary of the OPTEX Group, which is engaged in the manufacture of lighting for image processing, in terms of sales and service. The sales target is 200 units a year. Auto parts manufacturers and others have already begun to introduce the system on a trial basis.
