Wal-Mart to launch tender offer for Seiyu

TOKYO, Japan - Brett Biggs (L), Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s senior vice president, and Ed Kolodzieski, chief executive officer of Seiyu Ltd., pose for photographers at a news conference in Tokyo on Oct. 22 where Wal-Mart, the parent company of Seiyu, announced it will launch a tender offer for Seiyu and turn the struggling Japanese supermarket chain into a wholly owned subsidiary.
