Nissan to supply compact car to Chrysler for sales in S. America

TOKYO, Japan - Nissan Motor Co. will provide Chrysler LLC the Versa compact sedan (photo) under the Chrysler brand in South American markets from 2009, the company said on Jan. 11. Chrysler will sell the 1.8-liter Versa, which is being made at Nissan's Mexican plant, under a new name. The Versa is sold as the Tiida in the Japanese market. (Kyodo)
