Japan's air force chief fired over controversial essay
TOKYO, Japan - Japan's Air Self-Defense Force Chief of Staff Gen. Toshio Tamogami speaks to reporters in front of his house in Tokyo on Oct. 31. Tamogami was dismissed by Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada the same day over his controversial essay denying Japan's aggression against other Asian countries such as China and Korea before and during World War II.
