Japan launches satellite to study Earth's greenhouse gases

TANEGASHIMA, Japan - The domestically built H-2A rocket was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture on Jan 23. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's rocket carried the Ibuki satellite to study the concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere, as well as seven smaller satellites, including Maido No. 1 to observe the formation of thunder clouds which was developed mainly by nine small factories in Higashiosaka, Osaka Prefecture.
