MOF lowers economic views for all 11 regions for 2nd qtr

TOKYO, Japan - Senior Vice Finance Minister Wataru Takeshita addresses a meeting of the chiefs of the 11 regional bureaus of the Finance Ministry at the ministry on Jan. 28. The ministry lowered its economic assessments for all of Japan's 11 regions for the October-December period from the previous three months. It adopted the word ''worsening'' in the overall assessment for the first time since comparable data became available in 1985. (Kyodo)
