Japan SDF dispatch not necessary: Afghan vice president

KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan First Vice President Zia Massoud speaks during an interview with Kyodo News at his office in Kabul on Jan. 29. Massoud said the deployment of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces to Afghanistan would be welcome but is not necessary as the United States plans to deploy more military units in the country.
