Pileup involving 40 vehicles occurs in Hiroshima

HIROSHIMA, Japan - This photo shows the scene of a pileup involving about 40 vehicles on the Sanyo Expressway in Hiroshima City on Dec. 31, 2009. The 8:10 a.m. accident and heavy snow in the vicinity caused the expressway, connecting Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture and Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and roads connecting to it in these prefectures to be closed for about five hours.
