Visitors take photos of Japan's oldest tree on Yakushima island

Tourists take pictures of the Jomon-sugi cedar tree on Yakushima island, a UNESCO World Heritage site off Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan, as seen in this file photo taken in October 2011. The prefectural government and the Yakushima town office plan to collect fees on a voluntary basis from visitors to Yakushima to help preserve its nature, including the tree believed to be at least 2,000 years old.
