Big offshore windmill assembled at port in Fukushima
The third and final blade is attached to a giant offshore windmill on a floating structure at Onahama port in Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, on June 7, 2015. The 180-meter-tall windmill, with each blade 82 meters long, is to be towed to waters off the prefecture in July to join another mill for a demonstration test in a government-funded project commissioned to a consortium of 11 entities, including Marubeni Corp. and the University of Tokyo.
