Strong shelters, classrooms urgently needed in quake-hit Nepal
Lumadi Poudel, 31, whose home was among 700 houses razed in Bhotsipa village in the Sindhupalchowk district northeast of Kathmandu by an earthquake on April 25, 2015, plans to live in this iron sheet shelter for five years with his wife, two sons and two daughters. Poudel said on June 24, 2015, that he has vision problems and was lucky to get this shelter built by an NGO for handicapped people. Hundreds of thousands in Nepal are still living in tarpaulin shelters that sway in strong winds and rain as the monsoon has arrived in Nepal. (Kyodo)
