Nationalist group seeking to write new history textbook meets press
Seishiro Sugihara (L), head of the Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform, and other members meet reporters at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo on Aug. 10, 2015. They urged Prime Minister Shinzo Abe not to use "invasion" and other words that the group regards as unilaterally condemning Japan in his statement to be issued on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. Eventually Abe used such words in his statement issued on Aug. 14 in the form of quotes from similar statements by his predecessors. (Kyodo)
