Artificially incubated cormorant debuts as fish hunter in Kyoto
Utty, Japan's first cormorant born through artificial incubation, sports a sign resembling that of the country's beginner drivers on its first day as a traditional "ukai" fish hunter on the Uji River in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, western Japan, on Sept. 5, 2015. Holding the bird is cormorant fishing master Mariko Sawaki who has been taking care of Utty since it was born in June 2014. (Kyodo)
