Tsunami-swept parts of shrine gate return from U.S.
Staff of the Yokohama Customs in the port city southwest of Tokyo show on Sept. 18, 2015, a head board of a "torii" Shinto shrine gate washed to the U.S. Pacific coast by the 2011 tsunami from the shrine's gateway in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan. The board was recently sent back from the United States along with a similar part of another gate at the shrine. (Kyodo)
