The number of victims of the 1937-1938 mass killings by invading Japanese troops in Nanjing, eastern China, before World War II is put at 300,000 at the Nanjing Massacre Museum in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, as shown on a wall display photographed on Oct. 5, 2015. UNESCO announced on Oct. 10 that it has added China's "Documents of the Nanjing Massacre" to the Memory of the World Register. (Kyodo)
