Osaka poet continues practice to ensure safety of schoolchildren
Japanese poet Ko Inoue gestures to have local elementary school children watch for cars before crossing an intersection near her home in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, western Japan, on the morning of Oct. 7, 2015. She has made it a habit to stand at the intersection almost every morning for nearly 20 years to ensure the safety of schoolchildren on their way to school. (Kyodo)
