Japan irked by UNESCO listing of Nanjing Massacre on world memory register
UNESCO's International Advisory Committee members discuss in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 5, 2015, the advisability of adding Chinese documents on the 1937-1938 Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese military to its "Memory of the World" program. The incident was inscribed later, irritating Japan and prompting it to threaten suspension of its funding for UNESCO. (Kyodo)
