Original visa by "Japan's Schindler" shown to media
Daisaku Kunieda, director of the Sugihara Chiune Memorial Hall, holds the original visa issued by Sugihara, a diplomat known as "Japan's Schindler" for having helped about 6,000 Jews escape Nazi persecution during World War II, at the hall in Yaotsu, Gifu Prefecture, central Japan, on Oct. 23, 2015.
