Ancient tomb mural of star constellations opens for public viewing
A ceiling mural at the Takamatsuzuka tomb, featuring an ancient Chinese constellation map, is shown at a press preview in the village of Asuka in Nara Prefecture, western Japan, on Oct. 30, 2015, a day before it is shown to the public for the first time. The painting, a national treasure with stars plated with gold, is among murals that have been undergoing restoration work due to damage from mold and deterioration. (Kyodo)
