Children's book author Maki Tanaka, known for her pen name "Usa-san," shows in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, on Oct. 31, 2015, paintings of pets killed in the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster in northeastern Japan. She and her group regularly hold art shows of dogs and other pets that perished in the disaster at various locations under the theme of "Precious Little Lives Lost in the Earthquake."
