Woman receives doll from Kennedy in return for gift 50 yrs ago
Tsuyako Matsumoto, 93, holds a Kit Kitteredge doll at a nursing home in Kitami on Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido on March 2, 2016. The doll was sent to Matsumoto by U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy in return for a set of traditional Japanese "hina" dolls Masumoto sent to Kennedy's father, President John F. Kennedy, in 1962. The ambassador still keeps the dolls at her official residence in Tokyo. (Kyodo)
