Japan successfully launches backup intelligence satellite
Japan's H-2A rocket carrying a backup radar satellite for intelligence gathering lifts off from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan, on Feb. 1, 2015. The satellite will be used as a backup for ground-monitoring radar satellites already in operation to gain information related to national security and natural disasters. (Kyodo)
