Japan strives to ensure safety of Japanese amid terror threats
Natsuo Yamaguchi (C), leader of the Komeito party, speaks in a meeting of government and ruling party officials at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Feb. 2, 2015. A day after a video purportedly showing the beheaded body of journalist Kenji Goto was posted online by a group believed to be Islamic State militants, Yamaguchi said at the meeting Japan has a history of extending "humanitarian" support to the Middle East and that the government "should maintain its stance without being intimidated by terrorist provocations and threats."
