Nobel laureate Nakamura receives prize from native prefecture
Shuji Nakamura (C), a 2014 Nobel physics prize laureate for his contributions to the development of blue light-emitting diodes, celebrates after being awarded an Ehime Prefecture Resident Prize at the prefectural government offices in Matsuyama on Feb. 4, 2015. Nakamura, a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, was born in the western Japanese prefecture and spent time there until graduating from high school. (Kyodo)
