New bridge linking Okinawa's Miyako, Irabu islands opens
Okinawa Gov. Takeshi Onaga (4th from L, front) and other guests cut the ribbon to open the Irabu Bridge linking Miyako and Irabu islands in Okinawa Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on Jan. 31, 2015. The 3,540-meter bridge, which cost 39.5 billion yen to build, is the longest toll-free bridge in Japan. (Kyodo)
