Hitachi to buy Italian rail firms for over 250 bil. yen
Hiroaki Nakanishi, chief executive officer of Hitachi Ltd., tells a press conference in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward on Feb. 24, 2015, that Hitachi has agreed to purchase the railway-related units of Italian industrial conglomerate Finmeccanica S.p.A. in a deal that could be worth more than 250 billion yen ($2.1 billion), the biggest ever acquisition by the Japanese electronics group.
