Fixed-point observation shows change of disaster-hit areas
Combination photo shows the wrecked town government office building in Minamisanriku, northeastern Japan. Above photo was shot on March 13, 2011, two days after the town was damaged by the deadly earthquake and tsunami, while the under photo taken Feb. 25, 2015, shows the building still preserved. Discussion continues on whether to conserve the building, where 43 officials died when it was engulfed by tsunami, as a memorial to convey the importance of disaster prevention. (Kyodo)
