Relief installed at airport to encourage disaster-hit areas
Cartoonist Katsuhiro Otomo unveils a huge relief at Sendai Airport in northeastern Japan on March 12, 2015. Otomo, known for his comic "AKIRA," created the original drawing of the 2.8-meter-high, 8.7-meter-long relief, which depicts a child overcoming angry waves, to encourage people in the areas severely damaged by the March 11, 2011, earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.
