Northeastern Japan town prepares to pitch local food at U.N. confab
Members of a group working for the reconstruction of Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan, hit by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster, taste food for Muslims made of local marine products on Jan. 21, 2015. The food was due to be served at a reception for participants in the U.N. World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction held in the prefectural capital of Sendai on March 14-18. (Kyodo)
