Transcripts by revolutionary feudal scholar Yoshida Shoin found
Pages of a list handwritten by revolutionary 19th-century scholar and teacher Yoshida Shoin are among 68 items of historical materials found recently and shown to the press on March 24, 2015, by a museum in Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture, western Japan. The document lists manuscript copies produced to earn income for running his school. The list, which recorded the names of publications transcribed and persons involved as well as the amount of payments received, bears Shoin's real first name Norikata. (Kyodo)
