Japanese masonry skills to be exported overseas
Nagoya Castle in Nagoya, central Japan, is seen in this file photo taken in August 2014. The stone wall upon which the castle sits was built with a traditional Japanese masonry method called "anoshu zumi" by the Anoshu Guild using unprocessed natural stones. The Awata family, stone masons inheriting the anoshu technique, has been holding workshops abroad and has received a contract for a project in the United States. (Kyodo)
