War anniversary statement without clear phrasing pointless: Hatoyama
Former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama attends a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Tokyo on April 22, 2015. He said he believes Prime Minister Shinzo Abe might as well not issue a statement on the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II this year if it makes no reference to Japan's wartime "colonial rule and aggression" that caused suffering to neighboring countries.
