Dud WWII bomb defused in central Osaka
After defusing it, Ground Self-Defense Force personnel on May 9, 2015, put on a truck a dud bomb believed to have been dropped on Osaka during World War II by the U.S. military. Areas within a radius of about 300 meters from the site in central Osaka were designated off-limits and some 2,200 people in the neighborhood were asked to evacuate for the two-hour disposal work.
