Japan shows control room in Tokyo for new weather satellite
Staff members of the Japan Meteorological Agency work at a data management center for the country's next-generation weather satellite Himawari-8 in Tokyo during a press preview on June 24, 2015, ahead of the official start of operations in July. The satellite was launched in October 2014 in a bid to improve the accuracy of weather forecasts related to natural disasters by sending color images for the first time. (Kyodo)
