70th anniv. of uprising at Hanaoka forced labor mining camp
A bereaved family of a Chinese national who was forced to work at the Hanaoka mining camp in the northeastern Japanese city of Odate during the war offers flowers at a cenotaph during a commemorative ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of a major uprising there, which resulted in the deaths of many Chinese workers. More than 100 people both from Japan and China attended it. (Kyodo)
