Japanese developer of "abaya" Muslim cloak promotes exports

Kazuyuki Hashimoto, who helped develop silk-texture fabrics for the "abaya" black cloak for Muslim women in the early 1990s, shows one of the products in Sakai, Fukui Prefecture, central Japan, on July 3, 2015. He is making a pitch for exports as a marketing manager at Utic, a dyeing company that has succeeded in reducing fabric weight by trimming synthetic fiber. The company currently produces about 80 percent of all abaya fabrics produced in Japan. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
