Japan animation artist meets Tohoku high school students in U.S.
U.S.-based Japanese animation movie director Daisuke Tsutsumi (L, foreground) meets 100 high school students from the northeastern Japan region of Tohoku at the University of California, Berkeley in the U.S. state on July 24, 2015. The students from Tohoku, devastated by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, were staying there for a short period under the TOMODACHI (friend) Initiative, a public-private partnership between Japan and the United States aimed at supporting recovery from the disaster.
