Censure motion against PM Abe rejected
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (L) leaves after a censure motion against him, submitted by the major opposition Democratic Party of Japan, is rejected by the House of Councillors in Tokyo during a plenary session on Sept. 18, 2015. Making last-ditch efforts to block the passage of controversial security bills, opposition lawmakers filed a series of censure motions in the upper house from the previous day, all of which were rejected given the majority held by the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and its coalition partner, the Komeito party.
