Akiyama breaks Murton's single-season record with 215th hit
Seibu Lions leadoff man Shogo Akiyama celebrates after hitting an infield single to third in the sixth inning of a game against the Orix Buffaloes in Osaka on Oct. 1, 2015, to set a new Nippon Professional Baseball record for most hits in a single season. Akiyama later belted a triple in the ninth inning, to end the season with 216 hits.
